As your student teacher gets acclimated to your school and community, help them feel comfortable by continuing to introduce them to school staff, faculty and leadership. If the opportunity is there, introduce them at department and staff meetings. Helping them feel comfortable and like they are a part of the instructional faculty at your site will give them greater confidence in their role.

Reminders
Don't Forget:
- Student Teachers should observe for their first week of the internship and pick up their first course prep the second week that they are at their internship sites.
- As they begin their instruction this week, be sure to meet with them daily. Verbal and written feedback is encouraged. Checkout the Teaching Performance Review on page 20 of the Cooperating Teacher Manual. See an example of a completed form below in the "Example Document" section of this page!
- Checkout pages 23-25 of the Student Teacher Handbook and give your input on your student teacher's Internship Experience Plan, if you haven't already. Your intern should have submitted those to their university supervisor by the end of their 1st week.
- The student teacher should strive to conduct at least one SAE visit during both week 1 and week 2. Help them to identify some candidates in your classes who they can talk to. Their SAE Visit Record Sheet can be found on page 29 of the Student Teacher Handbook.
-Student teachers should be submitting their Reflection Journal (pg.27) and Clock Hour Worksheet (pg. 26) each Sunday by 10pm. It is acceptable to send later, if needed.
